Shonen Knife as "Sgt. Peppers Ultra Eccentric Super Cult Punk Pop Band"

This is my back cover art for the Japanese bands tribute album to Shonen Knife, "Naritaina! Shonen Knife". I also did an instrumental cover version of "Space Christmas" & it is the closing track on the album. Lolita No. 18 were also on this album, with their cover version of "Antonio Baka Guy"! Above: I did this graphic design of Shonen Knife as the "Osaka Ramones" sometime in late 1997. They played an all-Ramones show as the "Osaka Ramones" in 1998 in Japan... and Joey Ramone introduced them as the "Osaka Ramones" when they joined Joey & his band, the Independents - for a live jam session at the L.A. Troubadour on August 20, 1998. (5) nights later, Shonen Knife were joined onstage by Markey Ramone at the Bowery Ballroom in New York where he introduced the band, and jammed with them on the drums! They were the opening band for the Ramones in Japan at a show there in the '90s. Shonen Knife are the "Osaka Ramones"!

I wrote the "Shonen Knife Story" for them, and they used it in their wonderful biography, "Shonen Knife Land!" (cover art by Shonen Knife)
