Giant Robot - This L.A.-based magazine featuring East/West interests - is about the coolest thing going. Eric Nakamura, Martin Wong, N8 Shimizu and Company - have done some great Shonen Knife Interviews (Issue #6 and Issue #8) and they have a twist of humor, wit and profound insight in their features. Outrageous at times, but never uneventful. A personal favorite feature: The ads on the back cover featuring Ming Tran in action for Hookups shoes - a collectible series, no less! Don't be without this Asian magazine with western appeal coming to your mailbox every 3 months. It rocks. Brand New Look, now!

Shonen Knife "Blast Off!" Video - Here is a source in Japan that is advertising the Blast Off! Video of the Shonen Knife 1997 US Tour, and many Shonen Knife Japanese release CDs. I just found this, and have not ordered anything from them - but the instructions are all there. If anyone orders the "Blast Off" Video from them - please let me know if your order went well. domo arigato!

Takako Minekawa is the new queen of Minimalist Pop. Her first two albums, "roomic cube" and "cloudy cloud calculator" - are wonderfully musical, melodic trips into the world of color and audio poetics. Very pleased to have met Takako in 1998 - she is a refreshing force in new music!
Cosmic Moon Page, by Usako Tsukino, is beautifuly done. Moonies will find it cool, trendy and lots of info, gear and goodies for anime fans!
His Pet - Yes, it's His Pet, "Dick Da Fish"! He can swim very fast like a Torpedo Shark, and always has a strange look on his face! 
Tomoe Shinohara - Original Home Page. Shinohara-san is very popular in Japan, appearing in countless commercials and with personal album releases, as well. She has a large Fan Club, Shinorer's Club, and an energetic appeal. Naoko Yamano has written (2) songs for Shinoler, as she is also known: "One Peace", and "Alligator". Yamucha Soft Drink. - Naoko Yamano did a "soft drink commercial" for Japanese Television for this product. Appearing on the sessions with her were Sister/Shonen Knife Drummer, Atsuko Yamano, and Band Manager, Atsushi "Tomato Head" Shibata. Word here at the NeXuS is that "Riding on the Rocket" was the song featured in the commercial.
Pocket Biscuits - One of the top TV Troupes in Japan, "Pocket Biscuits" (Chiaki Sakamoto, Teru Uchimura and Taiboku Udono) present amazingly funny and adventurous mayhem - with a real touch of heart. Joined by the "other team", "Black Biscuits" (Vivian Hsu, Kyoya Nanami and Hiroyuki Amazin) - they set "challenges" and go out to meet them! Very fun! Thanks to Super-fan Hiroshi "Moog" Suzuki for introducing me to the Pocket Biscuits Players!
Chiaki is an amazingly sensitive singer and she does light up the stage, wherever they go!
